Weatherite Building Services (WBS) has provided a vital air conditioning system for the new scanner suite at Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham.
WBS installed the system and the associated mechanical services in the hospital’s brand new CT scanner suite. The suite features highly specialised digital imaging equipment that helps with a variety of minimally invasive procedures.
The air conditioning system incorporates heat recovery fresh air units with temperature control to provide an optimal working environment for staff, patients and the scanning equipment. The Hitachi air conditioning) units feature virtually silent operation and smooth, multi-directional air distribution and, of course, use environmentally friendly refrigerant.
“WBS has carried out work for other departments at Heartlands Hospital and were delighted to work with the contractor, Raybloc Ltd, on this project,” said Mike Turton, Managing Director of WBS.
“It is essential that the scanner suite is kept at the right temperature all year round in order for the machinery to work at its best, and for staff and patients to stay comfortable, so we worked with Raybloc to make sure we devised the ideal air conditioning package,” Mike added:
WBS has over 38 years experience in all aspects of building service including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, commercial kitchen ventilation/extraction, data centre/IT cooling, boiler house refurbishment/replacement and all aspects of M & E services.
